Science and technology workforce: women in majority
In 2022, almost 76 million people in the EU aged 15 to 74 were employed in science and technology (+2.5% compared with 2021). Of the 76 million people employed in science and technology, 52% were women (no change compared with 2021). Across the EU regions, the highest shares of women employed in science and technology in 2022 were observed in Lithuania and the French island of Corsica (both 64%), followed by Latvia (63%).
